Although Missouri has a favorable tax environment and the cost of living is relatively low, the crime rate is quite high. According to the FBI’s latest crime reports, the Show-Me state ranks 14th for violent and property crime. It also had the sixth-highest murder rate in the U.S. in 2012. On top of this the winters are long and cold.
